ABOUT THE BOOK. Why is Christ called both “God" and the “Son of God” in Scripture? In Ty Gibson's new book, The Sonship of Christ, you will discover an answer so simple you'll wonder why you never saw it before, and so beautiful it will take your breath the way, Gibson creates a whole new theological lens through which to interpret the Trinity versus anti-Trinitarian debate. The addition of "the Son of" to four passages in 1 Nephi does not change the Book of Mormon's teaching that Jesus Christ is the God of Old Testament Israel. This concept is taught in more than a dozen other passages whose readings remain unchanged from the original manuscripts.

So when we say that Jesus is the Son of God, we mean that God has begotten his Son in his very same divine nature, nothing less, from all eternity. Begetting is a metaphor, a picture, that tries to hold two truths together: (1) God the Father is not God the Son and God the Son is not God the Father; they are distinct persons, distinct centers. The Book of Mormon teaches that God the Father, and his Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are "one", with Jesus appearing with a body of spirit before his birth, and with a tangible body after his resurrection. The book describes the "Spirit of the Lord" "in the form of .

[Author’s note: The previous articles have presented the Person of the preincarnate Son of God. In this article we begin the study of the work of the Son of God before the incarnation.] {Editor’s note: Footnotes in the original printed edition numbered from , but in this electronic edition are numbered 1 . The second person of the Trinity, equal to God and of the same essence, but a different person. In the traditional Christian Trinity the Son is eternally “begotten” of the Father, but in Milton’s cosmos the Father begets the Son at a specific point and then elevates him to divinity.

Steve Wellum's God the Son Incarnate is the best book on Christology I have ever read. It receives my highest recommendation. I am already scheming on how to require this in my classes. My only small quibble is that Steve does not develop the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of Christ to the degree that the Scriptures do/5.

In The Good Son: A Novel, Gruber uses the plot as a scaffold for psychological, religious and sociological asides which are far more intriguing and thought provoking than most op ed pieces or news stories about the Middle East/5(). Through the serene beauty of word and image, The Saving Name of God God The Son book Son introduces the very young to the Christian mystery of Jesus Christ, Second Divine Person of the Trinity.

The first title in a set of three board books on the Blessed Trinity and first work in the Teaching the Language of the Faith Series, this full-color book focuses on the invocations and titles of Christ/5(32). In this little book he lays a firm foundation to help the church understand ‘Son of God’ with reference to Jesus.

After considering uses of ‘Son of God’ in Scripture, both in general and when applied to Jesus, Carson models the way systematic theology should be based on solid biblical exegesis/5(40). Embodiment of God the Son The third main truth of which John wrote is the embodiment of God the Son.

This truth is called the incarnation. This word, Latin in origin, means “in flesh.”. Written in modern English, I am God the Son is a paraphrase of the Scriptures, based on the Gospels, that is different than anything you have ever read before. Not only does it offer different aspects of the key events from the life of God the Son on the earth from God The Son book perspect of Christ himself, but it also invites readers into action through specifically directed : Heritage Builders.

Even though Milton refers to the Son as God in Book VII, it is, nonetheless, the Son who, with golden compasses, lays out the universe and creates Earth and Mankind.

Once again, the Son carries out God's. The Son is Meyer’s second novel, well, second published novel anyway. He wrote a couple before American Rust was published in He wrote that while in an MFA program in Austin.

He has it in mind that this book, which was initially called American Son would form the second volume of a 4/5(K). The Son of God in the Book of Revelation and Apocalyptic Literature. "God the Son Incarnate is a masterful work written by one of evangelicalism’s finest theologians.

In this substantial, perceptive, and faithful volume, the doctrine of Christ is ably situated in the biblical story, grounded in biblical theology, related to the historical and contemporary context, and synthesized via systematic theology.

GOD THE SON. Recently we considered the subject, God the Father. There has been little contradiction of the fact that the Father is God. But some have denied that Christ was really the Son, and therefore not deity. So let us go to Isa. 45 for some background. Elohim is the word for God in Gen.

El is God in contrast to the gods of the heathen. Baptism is the Sacrament of initiation, through it we enter into Jesus Christ God the Son and die in His resurrection, Confession is the Sacrament of healing and by order of the risen Christ [John ] we confess our sins and obtain absolution, The Eucharist is a memorial of His death by which which we announce His death and proclaim His.

Overall I’d give 3 out of 5 stars to the first book God of the Son. Interesting premise but does contain several instances of insta-love. A lot of the story elements seem disconnected like the author used every fantasy idea that came to her on a whim without blending them in an authentic way/5.

The questionable depiction of God is somewhat redeemed by Milton's representation of the Son (called "the Son" since Jesus, in the poem's time, has not yet been born into the world). The Son sees a solution to the problem and steps forward willingly, accepting death in order to overcome it and save Man.

The book Son of God is a tie-in with the major motion picture of the same title, slated for wide theatrical release (through 20th-Century Fox) on Febru Like the movie, the book possesses an epic scope, providing a panoramic picture of first-century Judea as it recounts the events and reveals the meaning of Jesus's life, death, and resurrection/5(67).

Other articles where God the Son is discussed: Christianity: God the Son: Dogmatic teachings about the figure of Jesus Christ go back to the faith experiences of the early church, whose faithful recognized the incarnate and resurrected Son of God in the person of Jesus. The disciples’ testimony served as confirmation for them that.

John states: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (King James Version) Later in the same chapter, the apostle John clearly shows that “the Word” is Jesus.() Since the Word is called God, however, some conclude that the Son and the Father must be part of the same GodBear in mind that this part of the Bible was originally written in Greek.

Interaction Of Father And Son Subject To God Putting God First everything God Turning Bad Things Into Good God's Fullness The Submission Of Christ When all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that God may be all in all.

As God’s Son, Jesus never thought of trying to be God. The Bible clearly teaches that the Father is greater than the Son. The Bible clearly teaches that the Father is greater than the Son.

It derives from several uses in the New Testament and early Christian mainstream Christianity, it also refers to his status as God the Son, the second divine person or hypostasis of.

Abinadi taught that Jesus Christ was both "the Father and the Son." This has caused many to wonder whether the Book of Mormon teaches a trinitarian concept of God. By viewing Abinadi's teachings through the lenses of Mesoamerican "deity complexes," however, a different understanding emerges.

These "deity complexes" in Maya religion envisioned single deities in various.
